Long queues persisted this morning at petrol filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, despite last night’s announcement by the Federal Government that a litre of fuel would now sell for about N145 instead of about N86.

News Express Correspondent who went round filling stations to monitor the effect of the controversial price hike noticed that the queue was much in many stations, leaving many commercial and private car owners on a long queue.

Meanwhile, some NNPC stations have begun to effect the new price on their price boards.

Most NNPC stations have been removing the old price on their boards and replacing it with the new price, indicating that they would sell at N135 for their customers.

It was also noticed that private filling stations have not followed suit.
