The newly deployed Police Commissioner in Enugu State, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, has promised to enhance partnership with other security agencies and the media to fight crime and criminality in the state.
Ojukwu gave the assurance at the state police headquarters after addressing officers and men of the command, according to a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere Amaranth, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Saturday.
“I will partner with you (officers and men), all relevant stakeholders as well as the good people of Enugu State in my assignment.
“There will be enhanced partnership with sister security agencies and the media for effective crime prevention and control in the state.”
Ojukwu was before his new appointment, the commissioner of police in-charge of Eastern Port Command, Port Harcourt, in Rivers.
He had also served as the Assistant Commissioner, Force Public Relations Department, Abuja, and Deputy Commissioner in-charge of Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Imo Command.
He was also deputy commissioner of police in-charge of CID, Zone 7 police headquarters, Abuja, and was named the commissioner in-charge of Force Public Relations Department, Abuja.
Thereafter, he became the commissioner of police in-charge of Kogi.
NAN reports that Ojukwu took over from Mr Nwodibo Ekechukwu, who had been redeployed to Eastern Port Command, Port Harcourt. (NAN)
