Eagles scorer Dele Bashiru
Nigerias new Head Coach Finidi George began his reign on a shaky note last night, Friday, June 7, 2024, when the Super Eagles struggled against visiting Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their Group C World Cup qualifier at the Godswill International Stadium, Uyo.
The visitors silenced the full house of spectators with the curtain raiser in the 29th minute of play courtesy of Themba Zwane who dazzled past the Nigerian defence to send the ball beyond the reach of Stanley Nwabali in goal for the Super Eagles.
The half ended on that note but Dele Bashiru equalised seconds on the restart.
