Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has dissolved the state Executive Council (EXCO) with immediate effect.
“He announced the dissolution at the end of today’s EXCO meeting in Owerri,” a competent source close to the governor told News Express. “Everybody is affected, including special advisers and special assistants,” the source added.
At the end of the weekly EXCO meeting, Okorocha thanked the members for their services and wished them well in their future endeavours. The announcement came as a surprise as the men and women who had worked with him since he came to power two years ago did not expect it. The mood immediately changed from that of joy to gloom. The governor is expected to reconstitute his team soon.
