Police declares state of emergency in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has declared a state of emergency in a bid to stop the rising cases of kidnapping in the state.

The command’s spokesman Zubairu Abubakar said the declaration was on the orders of the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase.

He said a new squad had been formed to track and dislodge the criminal gangs.

In one of the recent kidnap cases, Colonel Samaila Inusa was killed by his abductors, hours after he was abducted in March.

Abubakar said that the police had made several arrests and commenced the prosecution of some of the suspected kidnappers. (TVC)
