Four able-bodied men from Nsukka, Enugu State, are currently assisting the Delta State Police command with investigations on how they came about one human hand found on them.
The four men who were paraded before newsmen in Asaba today by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, included 25-year-old Ebo Ataah and 27-year-old Obinna Agbo. Others are 34-year-old Emeka Eze and Ejike Odo, who is 27 years old.
Three of the suspects are bricklayers and one, a tipper driver.
The owner of the hand had not been seen or known as at the time the police paraded the suspects.
But Delta State Police Command’s image maker, Celestina Kalu, is optimistic that diligent investigations will reveal whose hand the suspects cut.
Eze is the leader of the gang. The police said he served a master in Ondo State from where he met a native doctor that promised to make him a rich man if he can get a human hand for rituals.
And quite unlike most suspects, none of them denied the allegation; except that none of them admitted that the hand found on them was cut from a living person.
The mystery hand, meanwhile, has been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Asaba, by the police pending the conclusion of investigations. (TVC)
