Delta State House of Assembly not after anyone, says Majority Leader

The Delta State House of Assembly has again refuted the allegation of witch-hunt as a result of the oversight function on the Independent Power Project (IPP).

In a statement issued in Asaba by the House Leader, Hon. Tim Owhefere, the House reiterated its strict adherence to the Rule of Law and the Right to Fair Hearing.

According to the statement, what the House did was merely an oversight function in line with constitutional provision.

“It was never intended as a probe initiative against any individual,” Owhefere, who doubles as the Chairman, House Committee on Information, said.

The statement went further to reaffirm the commitment and resolve of the House to be fair and just in all matters of concern to Deltans.
