Ogun labour leaders meet Amosun over unpaid deductions

The leaders of the workers’ union in Ogun State have appealed to their members to be calm, as they have established talks with the state government on how to resolve their differences which came up due to unpaid deductions.

The union leaders noted that they appreciated the gesture of the State Government and its assurances of not retrenching despite the poor financial status of state which came up as a result of the economic downturn in the country.

Speaking after the closed door meeting which lasted for about three hours, Governor Ibikunle Amosun said the deliberation was fruitful and the government and the union will still meet to finalise how to further put smiles on the faces of workers in the state.

He urged them to continue to support the government at all times, noting that workers welfare has been one of the areas of strength of the present administration in the state. (TVC)
