The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the terrorist attacks on Uli community in Ihiala, Anambra State.
This was contained in a statement by the groups media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful and made available to our correspondent on Tuesday.
The group accused the Nigerian military of spearheading the attack and burning down many houses in the community, all in the guise of looking for criminals.
It also slammed the media for not reporting the incident.
IPOB recalled that it had raised alarm last week over the burning and destruction of properties and homes belonging to Ndigbo at Umulolo in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State allegedly by the Nigeria military.
The statement reads In part: As of Sunday, January 28, 2024, the murderous Nigerian military invaded the peaceful community of Uli in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State and burnt down many homes and other properties of Igbo indigenes and media refused to report it. The question is, what has Ndigbo done to the Nigeria government and her murderous security forces to warrant consistent terrorism, attacks and humiliation at the slightest provocations? Do the Nigeria military burn down the houses of innocent people in other parts of Nigeria? Do they destroy properties in Northern Nigeria when going after the terrorists and bandits ravaging the North?
Why is the Nigeria government forcing Biafrans to belong to the same country that their Security Agencies are tormenting and terrorising indiscriminately?
The Southeastern Region of Nigeria has suffered numerous terrorist attacks resulting in mass murders, destruction of properties, and forceful disappearances of many youths from Nigeria Security Forces and their foot soldiers, the Fulani terrorist herdsmen. These attacks have worsened with the APC governments under Mohammed Buhari and now under Almed Bola Tinubu.
At the moment, most of the standard and beautiful houses in Uli, Anambra State, have been burnt down by the Nigeria military. Nigeria government and its security agencies were doing to Biafra agitation unattractive but that wont happen, same Military were meant to protect Ndigbo from terrorists, but they have turned into terrorists themselves.
Since the Buhari Government recruited the so-called repentant Boko Haram terrorists into the military, the Nigeria military and terrorists have similar modus operandi. They attack innocent communities and set the villagers houses ablaze. These recruited terrorists into the Nigeria Army are the ones burning the houses of Ndigbo because of the envy and ethnic hatred they have towards us.
The sad thing is that the Nigerian media have refused to bring the terrorist activities of the Nigeria military in the South East to the publics attention because of the fear of sanctions from the compromised media regulatory agency in Nigeria. The media is supposed to be the voice of the voiceless, but the Nigeria government has caged the media houses.
While assuring that perpetrators of the crime would be unravelled, IPOB said that every evil agenda from any front will fail and Ndigbo and Biafrans will continue to rise and shine beyond their Imagination.
It added, No matter how many lives they waste and how many homes and businesses of Ndigbo they destroy in many parts of Nigeria and in Alaigbo, Biafra must come.
The more the Nigerian Government and the murderous Security Agencies target to destroy the properties and business of Ndigbo, the more Biafrans hate Nigeria and the more they push us closer to Biafra freedom and independence.
