The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the party in power in Rivers State, has laid claim to being in the lead in the State and national Assembly rerun elections held Saturday across the 23 local government areas of the state.

A tweet in the wee hours of this morning from the party’s official handle ‏@PdpNigeria said: “All results from 15 LGAs that have come in so far, @PdpNigeria has won all. APC is yet to win any including Amaechi's LGA. Rivers is PDP!”

Even as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues the collation of results of the ballot marred by violence and low turnout, various tweets by PDP gave some of the results as follows:
