Daniel Igali, the president of Nigeria Wrestling Federation, on Monday in Abuja said the athletes would win multiple medals at the Olympics in Paris.
The president told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that one athlete has qualified for the Olympics and more athletes will qualify for the tournament.
He said the athletes will use the African Games tournament as preparation for the Olympics.
Two weeks after the African Games we have the Olympics qualifiers in Alexandria in Egypt.
Odunayo Adekuoroye has already qualified for the Olympics and won a world championship bronze medal in Belgrade in 2023.
We will continue to keep the athletes working and preparing because more wrestlers will qualify for the Olympics,he said.
We will be going to Paris to at least get on the podium. We are going to the Olympics with a very high hope of winning multiple medals for Nigeria,he said.
NAN reports that the 2024 Summer Olympics scheduled to take place from July 26 Aug. 11 in Paris, France. (NAN)
