Two goals from Happy Ekwutozilam Eze (39th minute) and Chidiebere Diamond Nnachi in the 57th minute were enough to give Enyimba a 2-1 victory over Abia Warriors in the Abia derby decided yesterday in Aba.
Abia Warriors got their consolatory goal from the boots of Augustine Chimezie Njoku in the 92nd minute.
The win shot Enyimba to the fourth with one outstanding game.
Leaders, Remo Stars continued their steady march up the table with a 2-0 defeat of Kwara United at the Ikenne Stadium. Olamilekan Adams Alade opened scoring for the Bet9ja boys in the 25th minute with Samad Kadiri cementing the win with the second goal in the 59th minute.
Akwa United, Bendel Insurance recorded 1-0 victories over Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars respectively, while Bayelsa United spanked Enugu Rangers 2-0, but the win of the day belonged to Plateau United, who went to Minna to beat Niger Tornadoes 3-2. (The Guardian)
