APGA decries influx of aliens in Oguta LGA ahead rerun election

The Imo State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prince Marshal Okafor Anyanwu, has decried the influx of thugs and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) big wigs in Oguta LGA.

Briefing newsmen his morning at the Government House, Owerri, Prince Anyanwu called on Imo people to be aware of what he called the undemocratic activities of PDP members in the state to unleash mayhem during the forthcoming Oguta state constituency rerun election.

He called on the PDP members to have a rethink so that the state would not be plunged back to the dark days of politics.

The APGA chairman urged them to allow people’s vote to count, and for justice to prevail. He said that for the past 12 years, Oguta has been in political bondage and advised the electorate not to be intimidated.

Meanwhile, Governor Rochas Okorocha has called on the people of Oguta to protect their votes to ensure that the best candidate wins.

Speaking at a rally in the area, the governor said a vote for APGA would restore sanity in Oguta. He noted that Oguta had for a long time been backwards in terms of development, assuring that the victory of the APGA candidate would fast-track development.

The governor who also visited Agwa community promised to bring electricity in the area and announced that he had earmarked the sum of N500m for the empowerment of the youths of Oguta and Ohaji/Egbema LGAs of the state.

Present at the rally were Hon. Pat Ngozi Ekeji, Hon. Eudora Igwe, members of the state Expanded Executive council.
