Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, has deactivated his social media account following criticism over his performances.

Uzoho received huge criticisms on social media from Nigerian fans who singled him out as the reasons the Eagles drew their opening two games in Group C.

The three-time Africa Cup of Nationa winners came from behind to draw 1-1 with minnows Lesotho in Uyo last week Thursday.

In their second group C game against Zimbabwe in Rwanda, the Eagles also settled for a 1-1 draw with Uzoho conceding a free-kick from range.

He was blamed for the 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia in October after he parried a free-kick into his own net.

Also football fans accused him of costing the country the 2022 Qatar World Cup after a long range strike from Ghanas Thomas Partey slipped through his fingers.

The game ended 1-1 in Abuja after a goalless in Kumasi hence handing Ghana the World Cup ticket.

The barrage of criticisms for his strings of mistakes has prompted Uzoho to deactivate his X handle.

It remains to be seen if he will be called up for the 2023 AFCON in Côte dIvoire. (The Guardian)
