The Anambra State Football Association (ASFA) has slammed a five-year ban on a former Secretary of the Association, Mr. Chijioke Onyedika, over alleged violation of the State FA statute and engaging in anti-football activities capable of bringing the game to disrepute in the state.

The notice of the suspension, signed by ANSFA Communications Officer, Myckie Chukwuebuka, and made available to journalists on Saturday, October 30, 2023, said that Onyedika has twice ignored invitation by the Disciplinary Committee of the FA.

He said that on those two occasions, Onyedika who is a former Secretary of the State FA, failed to turn up without any prior notification.

The FA called on relevant football institutions and law enforcement agencies that have earlier been copied and notified that the ban was with immediate effect.
