Senator Magnus Ngei Abe, the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate in the Rivers South East Senatorial District re-run election, has denied any knowledge of the military operation in the house of ex-militant leader, Solomon Ndigbara.
In a press release signed by his spokesperson, Mr. Parry Saroh Benson, Senator Abe stated that he was not a security operative and did not have power to issue order to the Nigerian Army to carry out a raid on the house of the ex-militant.
He said that by the utterances of the ex-militant suggests that he knew something about the attack on his Senatorial Liaison Office building in Bori, Khana Local Government Area.
Abe said that it was wrong and illogical to associate him with a security operation not to talk of investigating his connection.
He advised the Civil Liberty Organization (CLO) to ask the military why they are carrying out such operation and not to entangle him in what he knew nothing about.
He said that it was a pity that the CLO, which is a respected non-governmental organisation in Nigeria, has allowed itself to be used as a spokes group of a political party in Rivers State.
