Veteran educationist, Revd. Nzom, goes home Feb. 26

The entire Ndiokoroji community will be thrown into mourning as they bid final farewell to a veteran educationist, Rev. David Onyenucheya Nzom, whose remains will be laid to rest on Friday, February 26, 2016.

Revd. Nzom was ordained a minister in Methodist Church Nigeria in 1994 by the then Prelate of the church, His Eminence Sunday Mbang. He has been described as one of the greatest educationists in the history of the entire Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State until he died on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the age of 65, after a protracted illness.

Between 1981 and 2003, Rev. Nzom served as a principal in more than seven schools, including Bishop Onyeagba Memorial Secondary School (BOMSS) Ndiokoroji, where he was the Pioneer Principal.

His service to mankind through the church, school and various advisory boards and committees in which he served has been described as second to none in the area and a reason why he has been tagged an irreplaceable loss for his family, community, church and entire area.

With the number of people who had gone through his tutelage both in the schools and church, he was also described as one man who has spoken to all, a man of the people, an elder and a great servant whose legacies needs to be immortalised.

Rev. Nzom is survived by his wife Ezinne Caroline Oluchi Nzom; two daughters, Mrs. Chiemerie Light Ugochukwu and Miss Success Ozioma Nzom; a son, Master Joshua David Nzom, and a host of relations.

His remains will be buried on Friday in his home town, Ndiokoroji in Okigwe LGA, Imo State, with an outing service on Sunday, February 28, 2016.
