The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has made the following predictions about Nigeria’s weather condition for today, Sunday, February 21, 2016:
NORTHERN STATES: Deterioration in visibility values due to thick dust haze will be experienced over Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Potiskum and Gombe. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 14-20oC.
CENTRAL STATES: Abuja, Bida, Lafia, Yola, Ilorin, Makurdi and Nassarawa are probable to moderate visibility values of 2-5km as a result of dust haze. Few locations may however experience less than 1000m. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 17-24oC.
SOUTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected over the inland and the coastal cities which may lead to light rain showers over Lagos, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt and Calabar. Night time temperatures are expected to be in the range of 19-26oC.
NOTE: Flight operations may be disrupted due to poor visibility in some airports across the country.
