Baba Wande
By IFECHI OKOH
Top Yoruba actor, Alhaji Kareem Adepoju, celebrated as Baba Wande on the movie scene, has cried out at last, against his betrayal by a top-notch film maker, Tunde Kelani, who, he alleged, failed woefully to keep to their business terms of agreement, thereby forestalling the release of his Ti Oluwa ni ile Part 2.
The celebrated actor opened up during an encounter with BBC News, Yoruba, while talking about what caused the delay inpushing out the Part 2 of Ti Oluwa ni ile.
He recalled sadly that Kelani and himself had a verbal gentleman agreement initially where both of them agreed that he (Baba Wande) would collect 30 per cent of whatever they made from Part 1.
However, I was shocked and terribly demoralised when Kelani sent N15,000 to me through his Manager. I then screamed, saying: ˜What is this for, for Gods sake? he recalled.
The disappointed and raging actor maintained that Kelani has no excuse or justification of any sort because they did not agree on any excuse much earlier.
So how can Kelani come now and be telling me of some people tampering with his proceeds? he queried.
The top actor explained that what motivated him into going for Part 2 of the movie was the fact that his fans who watched Part 1 would love to watch the Part 2, so as to know the end of the movie, thereby understanding it better.
