Rap superstar DMX is recovering after he was found unresponsive Monday night in a parking lot in a hotel in New York, USA, reports said.
DMX was close to death on Monday night, according to TMZ.
The rapper was reportedly found at a Ramada Inn in Yonkers, New Jersey, “without a pulse” and “not breathing.” Police found him on the ground in a parking lot, and his pulse reportedly came back after a minute of CPR.
Commenting on the incident his lawyer Murray Richman told ABC News that DMX was rushed to a Yonkers, New York, hospital on Monday night after an apparent asthma attack.
The rapper, born Earl Simmons, was at a local Ramada at the time of the incident, according to both his lawyer and the manager of the hotel, Hari Shukla.
“I saw him this morning and he looked fine,” Shukla told ABC News.
Richman added that ambulances arrived at the hotel after DMX, 45, “suffered an asthmatic attack.”
“He was treated by police and the ambulance service, and taken to a Yonkers hospital,” Richman said. “I spoke to his wife this morning and he is home and doing well.”
Richman said DMX was released from the hospital in the morning.
DMX is apparently now in stable condition. He told TMZ he remembers “having shortness of breath after suffering bronchitis for a couple of days.”
The rapper’s attorney could not confirm if the “asthmatic” attack was life-threatening.
Richman said DMX will perform in concert as scheduled on Saturday.
