Community ostracises Jim Nwobodo: Report

Former governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo, has been ostracised by his village in Enugu State, a report from the area said.

According to www.odogwublog.com, the 76 years old who at various times served as a minister and a senator “is not to do any business with anybody again in Amechi-Awkunanaw, so announced Most Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma, the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Enugu Province Anglican Communion.”

“Archbishop Chukwuma, who was consecrated Bishop in 1990 as the first Bishop of Bauchi Anglican Missionary Diocese, disclosed this to www.odogwublog.com at the Bishop’s Court shortly after a delegation of people from Amechi-Awkunanaw Enugu State led by one Mr Dan Agbo thronged to the Bishop’s Court Enugu to apologise to the Bishop on the betrayal he received from their son Nwobodo and communicate him on his ostracism from the community,” the report said.

It quoted Archbishop Chukwuma, as saying about Nwobodo, who recently dumped the Anglican Church for the Catholic Church and the Peoples Democratic Party for the ruling All Progressives Congress: “And let me tell you, the whole of Amechi came here to apologise to me for what Nwobodo did and told me that they have ostracised him. Nwobodo is nobody in

Amechi now. He has been ostracised and that is a doom for him. In Amechi now, anybody who goes to his house will be fined.’’
