The Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) has set up a committee to assess the performance of State Governors, according to a report from Abuja.
The report, by Channels TV, quoted NGF Chairman, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State, as disclosing that the committee is headed by former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mohammed Uwais.
It named Bauchi, Oyo, Jigawa and Niger as states being considered to be studied by the Peer Review Committee headed by Justice Uwais.
The committee will be visiting the four states in the first quarter of 2016 to assess the level of project execution and share the experiences with other governors, the report said.
“Unlike the previous exercise, when governors were visiting each other to do assessment, the Justice Uwais committee will do the assessment and assist the governors in the experience sharing exercise,” the report said.
