The leadership of the Nigerian Auto-Allied Technicians Association (NATA) in Imo State led by Comrade Kyrian Nnadi has applauded the idea of the Imo State Government to relocate mechanics to Avu Ultra-Modern Mechanic Village, an environment he said contain every modern facility that would enable his members perform optimally.
This is contained in a statement issued by Ikenna Onuoha, Anipr, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to Imo Secretary to State Government.
According to the statement, the commendation came following a meeting between the leadership of Nigerian Auto-Allied Technicians Association (NATA) in Orji, Nekede and Owerri Metropolis with the Secretary to the Government of Imo State (SGI), Sir Jude Ejiogu on behalf of the state government on Thursday, January 21st, 2016 at the Cabinet Office, Along Sam Mbakwe Road, Owerri.
Addressing members of the union, Sir Ejiogu told them that in a bid to transform every nook and cranny of the state with a view to making it a modern model place to live, the rescue mission administration of Governor Rochas Okorocha has made it a point of duty to relocate all professional technicians from the state capital Owerri to Avu Ultra-Modern Mechanic Village in Owerri West local government council.
According to Sir Ejiogu, the decision to relocate them to the permanent site at Avu was to bring synergy amongst members and as well, engender development for the betterment of the citizenry, and appealed to others who have turned a deaf ear to government’s policy to embrace the opportunity, as it is aimed at empowering them meaningfully.
Continuing, Sir Ejiogu maintained that reason why the relocation has not been concluded by now was to have much time to sensitize the affected persons and as well, give them ample opportunity to be included in the relocation process before final decision is given, urging them to move in without further delay as government’s policy must be enforced.
In their separate speeches, Chief V.I Obi (Chairman, Nekede Mechanic Village), Mr. Vitalis Nwokocha (Chairman, Relocation Technical Sub-Committee), Mr. Valentine Onukwuha and Chief Ignatius Igwe commended government’s vision to bring them to more conducive environment, where necessary materials have been put in place.
The NATA members while thanking Governor Rochas Okorocha for bringing development to the state, also applauded the humility and sagacity of the SGI, Sir Jude Ejiogu towards the realization of the Avu project, and called on their members to wake up from slumber and key into the government policy, describing it as second to none.
