True to their boast, Nigeria’s Super Eagles this afternoon overcame hard-fighting hosts, Harambee Stars of Kenya, to extend their lead on the Group F World Cup African qualifiers.

The African champions dominated the game played on a poor pitch at the Kasarani Stadium, with CSKA Moscow Ahmed Musa ensuring victory when he chipped the ball over an onrushing Kenya goalkeeper Duncan Ochieng in the 81st minute after slipping past his marker. Musa had terrorised the homers for much of the game which saw John Mikel Obi marshalling the midfield.

The Eagles have promised to also beat their last opponents Namibia away next week.
