The opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State today dismissed the State Government under the watch of Dr. Okezie Ikeazu and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state as endangered species waiting for extinction. It rebdered the verdict while responding to the statement signed issued yesterday by Abia PDP and signed by the State Secretary, Mr Charles Esonu, alleging that APGA has been involved in a plot to influence the outcome of the intending appeal by APGA.

Abia APGA said in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere: “As baseless, mischievous, and misleading as the allegation is, yet we in APGA would have been very surprised if the Abia PDP didn’t issue such a release, knowing very well that diversionary fabrication of falsehood is their legendry trademark, especially after committing any condemnable atrocity that’s still fresh in the minds of the people, like the one they just did at the Abia Governorship Tribunal.

“Without doubt, the PDP-led Government and their agents know that serious searchlight is presently beamed on them as they hatch yet another plot to purchase judgment hence their decision to come up with this kindergarten strategy of raising false alarm in order to put APGA on the defensivee while pursuing the same evil agenda that has subdued Abians, suffocated democracy, and retarded development in Abia State for years.

“It's either gross incompetence or corruption of the mind that could have spurred the Abia PDP to allege that APGA and her candidate failed to prove the issues they raised in their petition, when it was obvious that APGA and Dr. Otti meticulously and religiously proved a case of substantial non-compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act, e.g. we brought witnesses who testified against the fake results produced in Osisioma. The PDP L.G Collation Agent for Osisioma nearly defecated in his trouser when he was presented with mounting evidence which showed that against the provisions of the Electoral Act, he fraudulently signed the results of the 8 out of the 10 wards of the L.G.A instead of the ward collation agents. Again, he recanted his earlier false claim of signing the results of the entire wards and indicted him self the more by admitting that the PDP House of Assembly Candidate in the area signed the remaining two wards, against the provisions of the electoral act; these were lies told under oath. To add salt to injury, more of their witnesses went further to lie that they used card readers in Osisioma, when mounting evidence shows otherwise.

“In Obingwa, a gazetted document from INEC headquarters and tendered in evidence, showed that the result that declared PDP winner was fraud personified, it’s just cannot stand the test of time.

“From all indications, the Abia PDP’s fear, frustration, panic, and desperation took a pitiable dimension hence their inability to differentiate between Re-run and Supplementary election, our facts filled and thoroughly presented case so bamboozled them that they couldn’t recognise the prayers we made at the Tribunal; honestly election rigging is a hunting sacrilege.

“APGA is using this opportunity to call on the ever supportive millions of Abia people and the passionate Otti apostles to ignore the PDP and their false alarm, they are an endangered specie waiting for extinction, but they can be spared and prayed for if they show remorse, seek forgiveness, and surrender the stolen mandate, any thing short of this, be assured that your vibrant and peace loving leader Dr. Alex Otti and APGA remain committed to reclaiming the mandate you collectively gave to them.

“We plot not like them, we walk not in darkness, because we are of God, and our victory shall come from God.”
