Pro-Biafra protesters have poured into Enugu, the political capital of the old Eastern Region, a report from the area said.
The protesters are members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), who are demonstrating for the third day running over the continued detention of their leader and Director of Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, by the Department of State Security (DSS) despite having reportedly met his bail conditions as set by an Abuja Magistrate’s Court.
The protests started on Friday in Delta and the Onitsha axis of Anambra State, with the IPOB members marching from Onitsha to the capital city of Awka yesterday, arriving at the Governor’s Lodge at about 6:30 p.m.
The DSS has maintained sealed lips over the development, which has equally sparked protests elsewhere across the world.
