The Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja has declared Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the April 11 governorship election in the state.
Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan, a minister-designate fondly called Mama Taraba, had gone to the tribunal to challenge the declaration of Arc Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
She had sought the nullification of the result on the grounds that the ballot was marred by irregularities.
