An NGO, the Drug Salvation Foundation (TDSF) has announced its readiness to premiere an Anti- Drug Abuse Campaign Video with some Nigerian A-list Celebrities.
The project, the Foundation says, is endorsed by National Drug Law Enforcement NDLEA
Mr. Wilson Ighodalo, a social crusader, who is the President TDSF, stated that the Foundation is genuinely making a difference among Nigeria youths.
The Foundation, he disclosed, initiated the NDLEA Celebrities Drug Free Club.
The NDLEA Celebrities Drug Free Club works with great minds, A-list Nigeria Celebrities, who has decided to join the cause against drug abuse among youths.
Ighodalo explained further that there is something on the sleeve of The Drug Salvation Foundation an Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign Video with members of NDLEA Celebrities Drug Free Club tagged ‘BE SMART, DON’T START’ which will be aired across all the national TV stations, also, the campaign will be on line social Media, Youtube, twitter, blogs, google plus, facebook, online news worldwide et cetera.
Giving a brief insight into the background of the Foundation, Ighodalo said, the journey started in 22nd May, 2014, when Substance Abuse Awareness Symbol in Nigeria and NDLEA Celebrities Drug Free Club were launched by The Drug Salvation Foundation in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The event took place in Lagos under the distinguished Chairmanship of Ahmadu Giade, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA. The colourful ceremony had in attendance members of the diplomatic communities, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Airline/Couriers operators in Nigeria, A-list celebrities, students, inner city youths and other distinguished guests in the society.
Since the inauguration of the NDLEA Celebrities Drug Free Club, they have been working round the clock to see how they can effectively contribute their quota to the campaign against drug abuse among youths in the country.
He said he is very glad working with the A-list Nigeria celebrities together and we have collectively produced Anti Drug Abuse Media Campaign for Nigerians and her youths.
“These brilliant Celebrities are role models who connect with Nigeria youths. Their voices, brand image in support of Nigeria youths future, they are sending a powerful message to the young generation.
“All the Celebrities in this project are indeed proud and greatly privileged to be partnering with such worthy cause, also an inspiring group of individuals to spread the message that not only drug use is not cool, but it can damage the future.
“Such important cause we could champion together, then the future is bright for Nigeria youths because such project has never been done before in the history of Nigeria, in sub-Sahara Africa, even Africa as whole.
“The Drug Salvation Foundation is pioneering this project as service to humanity in collaboration with Nigezie Network TV Channel to produce the Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign Video.
“We strongly believe when the video hits the airwaves anti drug abuse war will never be same again because this is the first time A-list Celebrities will join in the fight and take the war on drug abuse to another level.
“The project initiative is all about ‘Catch Them Young’ and send a powerful message ‘Be Smart, Don’t Start’ because drug abuse kills dreams, so we want them to make smart decision on time before they are influenced and pressured.”
