Electricity Regulatory Commission’s jumbo N2.7bn severance package worries Reps

The House of Representatives has expressed concern over an alleged plan by the Board of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to pay the members of the board N2.7 billion as severance package.

In a motion of urgent national importance raised during plenary on Wednesday in reference to the NERC planned payment, Representative Mohammed Gololo, requested that the planned payment be stopped, as it was unlawful and unconstitutional.

The House approved the motion and also mandated its Committee on Power to investigate the matter and report back to it next week. (Channels TV)
