Two estate agents, including a woman, were on Monday in Abuja charged before a Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding a man of N58 million on the pretext of processing documents for his landed property in the FCT.

The accused -- Emmanuel Ihuonu, 46, of Lugbe, Abuja and Sarah Ani, a resident of Port Harcourt – are also charged with impersonating staff of Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The two accused posed that they were in a position to help the man in processing documents for his 20-hectre land located at Lugbe, Abuja.

The duo is facing a three-count charge of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and cheating.

According to the prosecutor, Osa Oyeyemi, an official of the Federal Ministry of Justice, Abuja, Mr Rotimi Ojegbile, reported the incident in a petition to the Zone 7, Police Command on October 13.
