The monthly Sanitation exercise in Rivers State for the month of October 2015 will hold tomorrow, Saturday, October 31, across the various local government areas of the state.
“As usual human and vehicular movements will be restricted from 7am to 10am during the sanitation hours,” Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, Bro Felix Obuah, said.
Bro Obuah “appeals to all residents to fully participate by cleaning their environment, clearing their drains, bagging their wastes and dropping them at approved receptacles only,” Mr Needam said in a statement issued in Port Harcourt.
He added: “The Sole Administrator warns that anyone caught violating the restriction of movement order shall be arrested and charged before the Sanitation Court.
“He appeals to companies, corporate organisations and individuals to donate their pay loaders, trucks and other equipments for easy evacuation of wastes on the Sanitation Day
“All those on essential services or duties are advised to obtain Exemption Permit from the office of the Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency, along Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt.
“The attention of the Agency has been drawn to fake Exemption Permit in circulation. Anyone caught with Exemption Permit not duly issued by the Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency would be arrested and prosecuted.”
