Late Ex-PDP Chairman, Ogbulafor
By CHARLES IWUOHA
The leadership of apex lgbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, has described the death of Late Prince Vincent Ogbulafor as a great lost, saying he was a ‘unifier’.
The body also extended the condolences to the royal family of His Royal Majesty late Eze (Eze) Ogbulafor, the good people of Abia State and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The late Ogbulafor hailed from Olokoro community, in Umuahia South Local government area of Abia.
He was the National Executive Committee of PDP, former Minister of Economic affairs, Former National Secretary and later elected as the National Chairman of PDP.
Ohanaeze, in a statement on Sunday signed by its factional Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said the wealth of experience of late Ogbulafor would be missed especially now the opposition PDP was facing heavy crisis.
The statement reads In part: “Ogbulafor would have been of a remedy to unravel the crisis currently facing the PDP, but if he was in the position of Iyorchia Ayu is facing currently as National Chairman, he would have repeat history by doing the needful, he would have resigned honorably and restore sanity to the party, by sacrificing his benefits and privileges for the unity of the PDP, as a royal Prince, his words were his bounds, he keeps his promises while he lived.
“Ndigbo will mourn Prince Vincent Eze Ogbulafor, and he will be remembered for always putting the people first before himself. He resigned from his position as National Chairman of PDP in 2010 when Jonathan becomes the President, and to balance the political equation since former President Jonathan is from the South with him, and to allow a northerner to replace him, he voluntarily relinquishes his position as PDP National Chair for the north, he was a good leader with a human face.”
