The National Coordinator of Obi-Datti Frontiers, Kelvin Odatse Peters, has commended the apex Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, for their stand on the principle of equity, justice and inclusiveness.

Recall that the leader of the pan-Yoruba group, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, had on Monday, restated the organization’s position to support the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, saying that “Peter Obi is the man we trust to restructure the country back to federalism on the assumption of office in 2023.”

Speaking while reacting to Pa Adebanjo’s statement, Odatse Peters said that Afenifere has shown that it is not only a pan-Yoruba organization, but also a pan-Nigeria organization.

According to him, no country would survive, let alone flourish, in the face of injustice and exclusion.

He said that for Nigeria to grow, all the component parts must be given a sense of belonging, which includes power shifting to the Southeast that has not tested power since the dawn of the present democracy in 1999.

The Obi-Datti Frontiers National Coordinator said that by refusing to compromise its principle of equity, justice and inclusiveness, even when one of their own, in the person of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a frontline candidate, Afenifere has shown that they truly love Nigeria.

He appealed to the other socio-cultural organizations in the country to tow the line of Afenifere for peace and progress of Nigeria.

“We in Obi-Datti Frontiers wish to commend Pa Ayo Adebanjo and all the members of Afenifere for their stand on power shift. They have shown that Afenifere is a noble, credible, right thinking and well-meaning organization that is worthy of emulation.

“We in Obi-Datti Frontiers stand behind Peter Obi for three major reasons. They are equity, justice and competence. As Pa Adebanjo rightly stated during his press conference, among all the presidential candidates, Peter Obi is the only one with the capacity to take Nigerians to where it rightly belongs. His administration will not be business as usual.

“He is going to change the narrative of governance in Nigeria. Peter Obi is the only hope for the hopeless Nigerians. That is the reason why Nigerian masses are swarming around him because through him, they will take back their country,” Peters said.
