President Muhammadu Buhari has described the death, on Saturday, of former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, as a loss to the state and the Ijaw people at large.
“President Buhari sympathises with Diepreye Alamieyeseigha’s family and the Government and People of Bayelsa State, asking them to take the loss as God’s will,” a statement signed by Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, said.
Shehu in the statement issued yesterday evening in Abuja quoted President Buhari as saying: “Former Governor Alamieyeseigha was well loved by his people, this love was expressed in the way they supported him through his time in public office, and also in the way they stood by him after he left office, in good and bad times.”
