President Muhammadu Buhari late this morning reacted to the midnight attack at Kuje and Nyanya, two satellite towns of the Nigerian capital, Abuja, saying he was distressed by the development.
The Nigerian leader sympathised with families of the victims even as he sent a delegation to hospitals to see the scenes of the attacks believed to have been perpetrated by Boko Haram terrorists, and to visit the wounded.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, tweeted about the multiple blasts that officially claimed 15 lives and injured many more: “President Buhari distressed about bomb blasts in Abuja. FG delegation visiting hospitals to see the wounded. Will to end BH by Dec strong.”
President Buhari himself tweeted from his official handle, @NGRPresident, “My heart goes out to the families of the dead and injured in Abuja, and other parts of the country.”
The President’s delegation comprising Chief of Staff Abba Kyari, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir David Lawal and others are visiting the scenes of the bomb blasts and hospitals where the injured are being treated.
