An All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Mr. Preye Aganaba, on Thursday, applauded the cancellation of the disrupted primary election held in Bayelsa State on Tuesday.
Aganaba told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yenagoa that the National Working Committee of the party listened to the complaints of all the aspirants and the Primary Committee in arriving at the decision.
He applauded the Chief John Oyegun led National Executive of the party, for the decision to cancel the primary election.
Aganaba said that the election was conducted outside the rules set out by the party to give all aspirants a level playing ground.
He alleged that supporters of some aspirants, who were not delegates, disrupted the exercise, leading to chaos.
The aspirant said that he escaped mob action by whiskers.
He said that with the cancellation, aspirants were awaiting a new date for the primary election, to be announced by the party's National Executive. (NAN)
