Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al Makura on Thursday explained the delay in appointing his cabinet members, attributing the delay to the high standards the administration has set to achieve in the next four years.
The governor, who was speaking to Government House correspondents in Lafia shortly after the Eid-el-Kabir prayers, said the selection process will end in two weeks when the list will be made public.
He note that more than half the states of the federation are yet to constitute their cabinet for various reasons, but states that the standards for political appointees has been raised to a point, only persons of proven integrity can attain.
Recall that the recent Labour Summit in Nasarawa State threw up issues affecting the civil service in the area of low productivity.
Some of the challenges could be addressed with close supervision of ministries by commissioners when appointed. (Channels TV)
