Breaking News: Olu Falae regains freedom from kidnappers —Report

Chief Olu Falae, at various times Minister of Finance and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has reportedly regained his freedom from his kidnappers.

Chief Falae, who is also a former presidential candidate, “reportedly returned to the warm embrace of his family in Akure, the Ondo State capital,” Channels TV just reported.

Force Public Relations Officer, Ag. ACP Olabisi Kolawole, however, claimed ignorance of the elder statesmamn’s release when contacted by News Express.

His kidnappers, who took him away from his farm in Akure on Monday (September 21), had demanded N100 million ransom but later came down to N90 million. It is not clear if any ransom was eventually paid but President Muhammadu Buhari two days ago ordered Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase to ensure the speedy rescue of the 76 years old statesman.
