The Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC) has written to the Independent Corrupt Practices (and other Related Offences) Commission (ICPC), requesting a progress report on the probe into the ghost workers scam in the federal civil service.
The coalition in a letter dated 16th September, 2015 and addressed to the ICPC Chairman, said it had earlier petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 30, 2015, requesting “for the investigation and prosecution of the masterminds of the ghost-worker scam that has rocked the Federal civil service and perpetrated at huge cost to the country.”
CSNAC in the letter signed by its Chairman Olanrewaju Suraj disclosed that it was advised by EFCC to “follow up the case at Independent Corrupt Practice and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) where the case is currently being investigated.”
“In the light of the above, we hereby request an update on the investigation of the above subject matter and hope our request will be promptly attended to in accordance with section 2, 3 and 4 of the FoI Act,” CSNAC told ICPC.
