Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, yesterday assured Nigerian Muslims, who join their conterparts across the world to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir today and tomorrow, that the Nigeria Police Force will provide robust security throughout the period of the festival.
Arase has therefore “ordered effective and extensive deployment of personel including movement of neccesary logistics to all nooks and crannies in the Country. He has equally mandated all Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and Command Commissioners of Police to ensure adequate security with standard operation procedures before, during and after the celebrations to secure key and vulnerable points, Eid-praying grounds and other places of worship including public places and recreation centres,” Force Public Relations Officer, Ag. ACP Olabisi Kolawole, said.
She said that IGP Arase enjoined Nigerians to always report any act of criminality to the police at all times as the Nigeria Police are prepared to take prompt and decisive actions. “On behalf of the entire officers and men of Nigeria Police, he wishes all Muslims, Happy Eid-El-Kabir,” ACP Kolawole said.
