The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted chances of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Makurdi, Yola and a few other cities of the central states this morning of Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
The predictions are contained in the Weather Outlook issued by NiMet’s Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Monday in Abuja.
It added that cloudy conditions with some chances of localised thunderstorms would be experienced over the eastern part of the region during the afternoon and evening hours.
NiMet also predicted that localised showers would prevail over the coastal areas in the morning with chances of localised rains in the afternoon and evening.
It said that the inland areas would experience cloudy conditions with chances of localised thunderstorms in the morning, while there are prospects of localised thunderstorms and rains over the entire region during the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency also said that the northern states would experience localised thunderstorms in the morning over the North-West while the North-East would be cloudy with slim chances of localised thunderstorms over Maiduguri and Yobe.
It added, however, that cloudy afternoon and evening would be experienced over the northwest with prospects of localised thunderstorms over the northeast axis. (NAN)
