Corruption: Ganduje to sanction erring civil servants

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, says civil servants and top government functionaries, who engage in corrupt practices and truancy should get ready to face the consequences

The governor sounded the warning at a two-day retreat organised for officials in the state public service.

Speaking through the State’s Head of Service, Muhammadu Naiya, Governor Ganduje insisted that his administration would not condone any act that hinders service delivery to the public.

“Our governor has even strengthened the anti-corruption directorate. The government has categorically made that it is serious about its zero corruption tolerance.

“Whoever is found wanting will be punished according to the law. It will help in the clocking of leakages in terms of revenue collection.”

Since President Muhammadu Buhari took over office on May 29, the fight against corruption has received heightened impetus, with the Governors of different States keying in to rid their states of corrupt government officials. (Channels TV)
