Check illegal activities of touts at NNPC deport, FG urged

A renowned transporter in Kano, Alhaji Sale Nagero, has called on the federal government to check the illegal activities of touts at the nation’s NNPC deports.

He made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Monday.

He said such a measure was necessary if corrupt practices in the oil sector were to be eliminated completely.

“The federal government needs to seriously check the activities of touts at the NNPC depots to ensure the success of the current fight against corruption in the oil sector.”

He expressed optimism that the bold steps taken by the federal government to restructure the NNPC would go a long way in bringing sanity to the entire organization.

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the achievements recorded within the three months, particularly in the area of power and fuel supply in the country.

“Wherever you go now in Kano and other states, you just go into filling station and buy fuel at the government approved price of N87 per litre.

“This is a great achievement considering the fuel scarcity experienced by Nigerians in the recent past.”

According to him, the improved power supply currently being enjoyed in the country will also go a long way in boosting socio-economic activities in the country.

He urged Nigerians to be patient with the new administration, saying he had the confidence in the ability of Buhari to transform the country. (NAN)
