Appointments: Buhari won’t sideline South-East, Shehu Sani assures

Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, yesterday assured the South-East that subsequent appointments by President Muhammadu Buhari will ensure that they are not sidelined or alienated in any way. The assurance followed complaints of marginalisation by the people of the region.

Senator Sani appealed to them to exercise patience until the president completes his appointments.

He made the appeal during the launching of Talakawa Grassroots Revolutionary Development Programme in Kaduna, an intervention initiative on education, health, women and youth empowerment as well as peace and conflict resolution.

The programme, the brainchild of the Senator, is aimed at socio-economic liberation of the less privileged in the seven local government areas under Kaduna Central Senatorial zone.

Speaking to newsmen at the occasion, Senator Sani said President Buhari is not unmindful of criticisms that followed the alleged lopsided appointments, and expressed optimism that the President being a man of integrity and a detribilised person, will ensure that no section of the country is discriminated upon in the areas of appointments and provision of infrastructure.
