Shehu Sani inaugurates grassroots development programme for constituents

Senator Shehu Sani (APC-Kaduna Central), on Saturday in Kaduna inaugurated a programme aimed at uplifting the lives of his constituents in education, healthcare, sports, recreation, and skills acquisition.

Sani, who tagged the programme: ‘Talakawa Grassroots Revolutionary Development Programme’ explained that it would serve as his platform to meet the yearnings of the people.

“The launch of this programme signals the commencement of a revolutionary change in the lives of the people in my constituency, Kaduna central.”

According to him, the people voted for change that will make meaning to their lives by liberating them from plunder and exploitation.

“It is my desire to see that through this empowerment programme, the people achieve the desired change they so much craved for over the years.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the senator inaugurated the programme with cash donations to tea café operators and tailors as well as donated wheelchairs to physically challenged persons.

The senator assured other disadvantaged groups in his constituency of similar gesture.

In his remarks, Malam Sulaiman Musa, the Chairman of Kaduna State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Tailors, commended the senator for the gesture, urging others to emulate him.

A beneficiary, Malam Shua'ibu Isa, told NAN that the donation would help to boost his business, and described the senator as “truly the people's representative.” (NAN)
