The Shell Petroleum Development Company Joint venture (SPDC JV) has announced the lifting, effective yesterday, of the force majeure on gas supplies to Nigerian Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) from the Eastern Gas Gathering System (EGGS-1) following repair of a sabotage leak on the line. The force majeure was declared on August 4, 2015.
SPDC Corporate Media Relations Manager Precious Okolobo said in a statement issued in Port Harcourt.
“The Joint Investigation Team which visited the site found that the leak was caused by a crude theft connection, apparently installed by people who thought the line was transporting crude oil.”
