Grammy winner, Ayo Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid, has explained how his decision to understand and learn the business side of his music helped boost his career.
Wizkid, recently, made this known during the unveiling of his deal with Tommy Hilfiger.
The father of three announced that his understanding of the business side of music was one of the most amazing things he did to boost his musical career.
During a conversation with Wizkid, the founder of Tommy Hilfiger, Thomas Jacob Hilfiger, showered encomium on the music star for getting it right as a businessman and singer. “If you want to live a nice life it takes money, but if you got talents like Wiz and you are selling out the 02 and you got your hits on top of the charts and you want to get the cash so you got to have management and you gotta watch the management.”
Wizkid responded saying, “It is amazing you said that about the business part of things because I would like to point out, that I think that was one of the most amazing things that I ever did for myself was learning the business side of my music, you know and I was very careful in deals I went into, I was very thorough with my deals, I was very thorough with what I wanted and business was very important.” (The Nation)
