Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, this afternoon rescued three accident victims while on his way from Umuahia to Aba for road inspection.

The governor ordered his convoy to stop when they came across the accident scene at Ntigha Junction. A trailer driver had lost control after the vehicle split into two, upturning and trapping him and two others.

Governor Ikpeazu immediately ordered his sides to contact Aba and immediately bring a crane to lift the trailer and save the three men. News Express was told that the governor ensured that this was done and the victims taken to a hospital in Aba before he continued his journey.

“He did it to save the lives of the accident victims,” one of the governor’s aides told News Express. “The only reason why there was no life lost was because of his prompt intervention.”
