The defeated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the just-concluded Imo governorship elections, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, has alleged that the election was marred with irregularities majorly perpetrated in favour of the incumbent governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with journalists in Owerri on Sunday, Ihedioha alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff also conspired with the APC to manipulate the result of the elections in various local government areas across the state, which was already declared in favour of the PDP at the polling units.

He added that despite the proven widespread incidents of manipulation which eroded the validity and credibility of the exercise, INEC still went ahead to declare the APC candidate as winner.

He said in due time, his party would study the details of the results carefully and communicate their next line of action.
