The on-going governorship election in Edo State is witnessing a large turnout of voters.
The atmosphere is however calm as soldiers prowl the state to scare away potential trouble makers.
“The turnout of intending voters is large and soldiers are everywhere,” reports a special correspondent of Transport & Business Express who is covering the election.
“We are in the bus chartered by the NUJ (Nigeria Union of Journalists) and monitoring towards Oshiomhole’s local government. We have passed Irrua, Ekpoma, Auchi and now in Igarra and Ibilo,” our correspondent added.
Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who is of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) is favoured to win despite the strong challenge from his main rival, retired Major General Charles Airhiavbere of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling party at the centre.
